The World Taekwondo Europe referee chairman, Chakir Chelbat was delighted after the successful debut of the electronic headgear during the cadet European Championships.

“My first visit in Hungary was ten years ago. It was a cadet European Championships also.” – remembered Chakir Chelbat, Head of the Referees of the EC.

“The organization was excellent last week. Everything was well-prepared and coordinated smooth.” – shared the member of the WTE Council’s experience with us about the continental tournament held in Budapest, Hungary last week.

That was the first time, when electronic headgear was used for cadets.

“It has a plexi glass to protect the youngsters as much as we can. We got positive feedbacks from the coaches, referees and spectators as well. It was important to the fairness of the sport, because with that we can minimize the human error. Referees have to focus on technical points only.”
